When trying to decide what to read next, the library feels these books bits (good & bad) will give participants some ideas for what to read next.
Winter Exhibit:
The Old Barn Museum of Newark will sponsor a Winter Exhibit at the Big Rock Library. "If It Is Wood, It's Good".
The Winter Exhibit will run through April 30, 2012 during normal Big Rock Library Hours or by appointment. Items shown are made by Howard Christensen, founder of the Old Barn Museum and builder
in the local area for more than 50 years. There are turned pieces and carved decoys and whimsical Americana like the three piece chicken lunch.
In his 70's and 80's, his passion was to create unusual segmented bowls and other wooden items. A narrative by his daughter, Judie Christensen, accompanies the exhibit.
Reminder:
The Cindy Polfer display upstairs was taken down Oct. 2nd. If you have been unable to visit the display, link into the youtube video set up by her son, Dan.
