DESCRIPTION:In the early days of our country’s history\, the primary type of currency was in the form of\ncoins. Richard Shimkus\, an avid coin collector here in Big Rock\, will be at the library on\nMarch 19th at 2:00 PM to discuss the first coinage of the Colonies from 1652 to 1787. \nHe’ll also talk about Coinage used by the Colonies prior to their own minting of coins.\nFor anyone who is interested in money and history\, this presentation should provide a\nfascinating look at how currency evolved over the course of the early days of our\ncountry. \nHope to see you there!
