    Colonial Coins

In the early days of our country’s history, the primary type of currency was in the form of coins. Richard Shimkus, an avid coin collector here in Big Rock, will be at the library on March 19th at 2:00 PM to discuss the first coinage of the Colonies from 1652 to 1787.

He’ll also talk about Coinage used by the Colonies prior to their own minting of coins.

For anyone who is interested in money and history, this presentation should provide a fascinating look at how currency evolved over the course of the early days of our country.

    Hope to see you there.
